Apartment House, Bonn Bad Godesberg
The inspiration of the design has been given by the extraordinary site and shape of estate. The proportion of the estate is 90 meters long and has only 12 metres of breath. Beside that it has a fall of 11 meters on its broadest part.
To solve the estate given problems, and to use a cheap preproducable material, the building has been constructed in steel. Even on such a narrow estate it has been possible to create a living space of about 425 m² the extended terraces not included. Because there is no disturbing neighbour and a beautiful natural landscape, it was possible to give the building a transparent and rightful construction.
The building has to be lifted up to avoid high water damages due to the near bank of the river Rhine.
