Kammerspiele  Munich

The „Münchner Kammerspiele“ is one of the best known Theatre in Germany and the last remaining theatre built in „Jugendstil“. The Project contents three parts all designed by Achatz Architects, Munich: a new building for rehearsal, a new workshop building and the auditorium that had to be refurbished.

The design brief was to create a modern theatre with an up to date stage technology. On the other hand emphasis has been given to keep the historical part of the project in its authentic structure.

To find the right balance between technical, structural and historical relevancy has been the major challenge of this project.
